1 mile every day

I was talking with a friend the other day about feeling uninspired and totally unmotivated. She told me a story about a woman she works with.
This lady gets up every morning and runs one mile on her treadmill. Then she knows she did something--even if it was just a mile. Then, if she has time, she does a longer run after work. But even if she doesn't, she knows she ran a mile that day.
We talked a little more and said, "Everyone can get up 15 minutes earlier." Because it's not 4:30 in the morning or driving to the gym or bundling up for below zero. It's 10ish minutes every morning.

So I set the treadmill back up this morning; it was folded away for the summer.

Our treadmill space in the basement.

And then I ran a mile.
